"Insufficient access to drinking water" is a third priority issue identified in the PIP (Problem identifying and prioritization) meeting organized in June 2017. As a result of the combined effort of the community people, they were able to bring the water from Basuki source to Pahade Thapa Gaun, which is at a distance of 3,000 meters from Pahade. For this, the group identified the resource institutions and negotiated for support. The group installed pipes from the Basuki water source to the village and accessed water in March 2018.
This enabled people to use as much water as needed, but the accessed water could not be managed properly. Therefore, during the community meetings, the concept of constructing a larger capacity reservoir tank was kept forward by the community as a solution to better manage water, prevent excess water flow and preserve it for dry months. In 2020, SYNC successfully completed the construction of a water reservoir tank of 50,000 liters capacity and stored the overflowing water accessed from the Basuki water source.
