Introduction

Women of Badikhel,Thulokhola faced challenges to meet their household expenses due to unemployment. Most of the men and women here work as laborer and involved in traditional Nanglo making from Bamboo. Since the demand for Nanglo is limited in season and it does not provides good market price at other times, the need for self-employed work was felt. To address the issue, training was provided for liquid as well as solid soap production inorder for the women to sell the soaps and increase their income. At present, 27 women have received training and some of them have started their soap production business. Furthermore, some people are also producing soap for their personal use with low investment.

Testimonials

Reeta Pahari - We are very Happy. Now we produce with our own investment. It seems that this soap is easily sold in the market because we have to use it every day. But it is difficult to buy the raw materials for making soap.
